Telmap Israel Launches M8, a Smartphone navigation and location services application, powered by Swift-i traffic®, Decell's premium traffic information
TEL AVIV, February 19th, 2013 - Decell Technologies, a global leader in the provision of real-time road traffic information, is proud to take a part in Telmap's new innovative location based application, M8 (Mate).
Telmap, an Intel company, announced today the launch of M8. This is the first time that Telmap is introducing its own branded and free application in Israel as its navigation services were traditionally offered to users via leading mobile operators only. M8 is already operating successfully in England, Germany and Spain and has been completely localized to the needs of the Israeli audience. The application is offered for iPhone and Android users.
The importance of service localization is in the core of both Telmap and Decell's operation. M8 is planned to assist users outside their residence, starting with planning their day, mobility on all platforms, parking, interaction with local interest points, businesses- such as restaurants, and friends.
Decell's Swift-i traffic® is a major part of M8's navigation experience, as the routing and ETA are based on its real-time traffic information, the most accurate and comprehensive data available in Israel. The information is a result of Decell's sophisticated technology analyzing and fusing different types of raw location data, such as anonymous cellular and GPS data. The traffic information is also displayed in the application on M8's map in high resolution in an off-navigation mode. Swift-i traffic® is constantly updated with all local events and incidents affecting the roads, constantly delivered to M8.
