Technology
Decell’s patented technology is based on the fact that cellular networks use
their systems to constantly probe network events, enabling the acquisition of
a large sample of locations of mobile users. This data is the raw input for Decell's system.
Decell uses its patented algorithms as well as advanced statistical analyses in order to evaluate the data and filter out unwanted noise and interference from such sources as pedestrians, busses, or trains. Only information that is found to be accurate is taken into account and translated into real-time traffic information. The sample size from which the traffic information is derived includes millions at any point in time.
The processed information is provided by Decell to its customers through a variety of technologies, applications, and devices via XML streams and other methods.
Autoroute-1 maintains total end-user privacy, with full compliance of regulations. All outgoing network information is purely statistical, anonymous, and provides no specific details on individual user locations.
Decell’s Autoroute-1 can be supplied with additional information in order to enhance the quality of the calculated traffic information. It is anticipated that the take-up rate of GPS-enabled handsets will increase rapidly over the next years, allowing Autoroute-1 to include in its calculations also GPS-related information.
While analyzing and storing historical data over long periods of time, Autoroute-1 can detect if a particular traffic occurrence is either normal or abnormal. This feature can be integrated into various services alerting subscribers with specific indications only if traffic is abnormal. Combining real-time data with historical one, delivers a far more accurate and superior level of service.
