Garmin Launches RDS-TMC Service in Israel and Selects Decell's Swift-i traffic® as the Traffic Information Source for its Navigation Systems
TEL AVIV, June 1st, 2011 - Decell Technologies, a global leader in the provision of real-time road traffic information, is proud to announce that Garmin, the world’s leading satellite navigation provider, has selected swift-i traffic® to be incorporated in its navigation systems in Israel.
Prior to its launch of the service in Israel, Garmin carefully evaluated Decell’s swift-i traffic® and concluded that it is the most accurate and comprehensive traffic information source available today in Israel. The service will be provided via RDS-TMC to Garmin’s PNDs, distributed in Israel by Ronlight Digital.
Decell’s RDS-TMC service, launched earlier this year, enables the incorporation of swift-i traffic® with Garmin’s TMC-equipped navigation devices. The premium traffic content is constantly delivered and integrated in real-time with Garmin’s sophisticated navigation software. Once real-time traffic status is a factor in the routing process, the users are provided with the fastest route at any given time. Swift-i traffic® is also presented as a layer on Garmin’s maps, demonstrating the traffic flow as well as events on the roads, such as: roadwork, accidents, police presence, etc.
